The Brighton Art Museum (BAM) was founded in 1987 by the Clifftons - a wealthy local family who wished to bring modern art to the people of Brighton. The Clifftons and their assembled team spent the next seven years combing the earth for unique, cutting edge modern art. Unfortunately, they learned that all this searching was really hard work and that art is actually very expensive – so they sank all their cash into a giant diamond and called it a day. In order to fill up the exhibit space, they opened their doors to the odder world of modern art – which has becomeThe BAM collection.

Today, The BAM attracts over 500,000 visitors a year from all over the world. They come to see some of the stranger pieces of modern art…and the insanely giant diamond!
